Biker seriously injured in collision with ambulance

A motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a collision involving an ambulance responding to a 999 call.
It happened on the A16 at Burwell near Louth, in Lincolnshire, on Wednesday evening.
The rider - a 57-year-old man from Spilsby - was being treated in hospital for serious injuries. The ambulance driver was not seriously hurt.
East Midlands Ambulance Service said the incident was being investigated by police.
A spokesman said: "We can confirm that a fast response vehicle travelling to an emergency was involved in an accident with a motorcyclist on the A16."
"The police are investigating the circumstances, and so it is not appropriate for us to comment further."
