A man has been arrested after a 12-year-old boy suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash in Lincolnshire.

Lincolnshire Police said the child was crossing Grimsby Road, in Caistor, on Wednesday night when he was struck by a car, which did not stop at the scene.

He suffered "potentially life-changing injuries" and was taken to hospital.

The 27-year-old man is suspected of causing injury through dangerous driving and failing to stop, police said.
