A man has admitted failing to stop at the scene of an accident after an 11-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was hit by a car.

The boy is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being hit on Church Road in Boston just before 18:00 BST on Sunday.

At Lincoln Magistrates' Court, Luke Mills, of Upsall Court, Kirton, also admitted driving without insurance.

Mills, 29, was remanded in custody to next appear at Lincoln Crown Court.

He pleaded guilty to a third charge of failing to stop when required by a police constable.

Mills, who also indicated guilty pleas for cannabis possession and causing serious injury by driving while disqualified, will be sentenced on a date yet to be fixed.
