A spectacular sound and light show will return to Lincoln Cathedral next year, organisers have said.

About 10,000 people visited the immersive projection display, created by Luxmuralis, in February.

The next exhibit, from 12-16 March 2024, will explore the contributions of science to the planet, organisers said.

Samantha Mellows, from the cathedral, said: "The last time we hosted a light show in the cathedral, the atmosphere was amazing."

February's show took visitors on a journey from sunrise to sunset, organisers said

Ms Mellows, the cathedral's director of visitor experience and enterprise, said she hoped the show would help people to see the world differently.

She said: "We're used to seeing the architectural beauty of the cathedral, and as it is transformed before our eyes, it gives us an opportunity to stop, reflect and take some time to look at the world from a different perspective.

"The last time we hosted a light show in the cathedral, the atmosphere was amazing; it was fantastic to see so many people of all ages, backgrounds and interests coming together to experience a shared moment of awe and wonder.

"We can't wait to do that again as we explore the impact of science on all of our lives."
