Women face trial on Bassingham stalking charges

The charges follow reports of the women directing threats towards other residents

Two women have appeared in court charged with stalking offences following a series of incidents in a Lincolnshire village.

Linda Lu, 34, and Susan Chen, 60, of Linga Lane in Bassingham, both denied stalking involving serious alarm and distress.

The charges follow reports of the women making threats and using vulgar language, Lincoln Crown Court heard.

Both were remanded with a trial date set for 8 April next year.

The court heard the women had moved into a property in the village in March, and after an incident in July had pursued a course of conduct which was said to have caused distress to others.

Between 15 July and 29 September, the women were alleged to have stalked and harassed other residents, including playing music on a 24-hour loop and calling one person a "retard" and "paedophile".

The defendants claimed it was they who were being "stalked".
