A man has died after a three-car crash left one vehicle overturned in a ditch full of water in Lincolnshire.

Two officers went into the water on Counter Drain Drove, Tongue End, to try to save the trapped man at about 15:35 GMT on Friday.

"Sadly, their attempts were in vain and the man died at the scene," Lincolnshire Police said.

Seven men aged between 19 and 33 were arrested following the crash, the force added.

The collision involved a grey Ford Focus, a black Vauxhall Insignia and a grey Volkswagen Touran.

Police appealed for witnesses or anyone with useful information about the crash to come forward.
