A 27-year old man died after his car collided with a gold Volvo estate

A 27-year-old man has died in a crash after his car hit another vehicle on the A158.

The man was driving a white BMW 1 series going towards Wragby when it collided with a gold Volvo estate travelling towards Baumber.

The incident took place at 17:45 GMT on Sunday 11 February and officers were called to the scene.

The BMW driver died at the scene and his passenger was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Their families have been informed.

The driver and passenger of the Volvo were not seriously injured.

Officers closed the A158 following the crash and reopened it just after 02:00 on Monday 12 February.

Police are appealing for anyone who might have seen the vehicles before the collision or who might have dashcam footage of the crash to come forward with information.
