Police discovered 423 cannabis plants during a raid in Sutton Bridge

Two people have been charged after more than 400 cannabis plants were discovered in a Lincolnshire village.

Police said officers found 423 cannabis plants at premises on Allenby's Chase in Sutton Bridge during a raid on Wednesday morning.

Halil Gopani, 31, of no fixed address, and Denis Xibraku, 24, of Stubbs Drive, London, are both charged with production of a class B drug.

A third person was also arrested but released with no further action.

Both charged individuals have been remanded in custody.

Police said the raid followed intelligence gathered by officers, which suggested there was "criminal activity" taking place in the village.

A cordon remains in place at the site "as experts work to dismantle the cannabis plants and carry out further enquiries", the force added.
