Mablethorpe man appears in court on attempted murder charge

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an alleged assault on another man.

Police were called to an address on Christopher Road, Alford in Lincolnshire on Friday.

Lincolnshire Police said a man in his 50s was seriously injured after "allegedly being attacked with a hammer and a knife".

Craig Jones, 32, of Station Road, Mablethorpe did not enter a plea in a hearing at Lincoln Magistrates' Court.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before Lincoln Crown Court on 6 May.

Two women, aged 29 and 47, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in connection with the incident and have been released on bail.
