24-mile diversion during Lincolnshire roadworks
- Published
A road in the Lincolnshire Wolds is to be closed for two weeks with drivers sent on a 24-mile diversion.
The closure is to allow resurfacing work to take place on the B1203 Kirmond Road at Kirmond le Mire near Market Rasen.
Work on the site will take place from 07:30 to 17:00 BST from 30 April until 14 May.
Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) has implemented an "unavoidably long" diversion route for the project.
Karen Cassar, assistant director for Highways at LCC, said: "Once complete, the road will not only be nicer to drive on but also far more durable than the current road surface.
"Due to the nature and location of the improvements there will be some disruption, but we'll be doing everything we can to keep this to a minimum.
"That being said, as we can only route diversions along similar or greater classed roads, the signed diversion route for this project is unavoidably long - at around 24 miles."
