A deal to sell a former police station in Lincoln has fallen through, the county's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Marc Jones has said.

The building in West Parade closed in 2021 after Lincolnshire Police moved to a new centre in the city.

Mr Jones told the Local Democracy Reporting Service the property would be put back on the market.

"There are all kinds of complications with a big city centre building like that," he said.

"These sales are often very complex and reliant on planning before it goes through."

Mr Jones said he was keen to find a community use for the building, nicknamed the Ryvita building due to the concrete cladding on the outside.

"What I want to do, and this is something I've felt passionately about before, is to make sure it has the best possible community-based use," he added.

"It's about shaping place, not just selling an asset."
