Planning approval has been granted to build 250 homes at a site in Grantham.

On Thursday, South Kesteven District Council (SKDC) approved revised plans for the site north of the A52 Somersby Hill/Bridge End Road.

The authority gave permission for 205 homes in 2021.

Up to three play areas, along with 2.5 hectares of public open space, has also been proposed by the developer Bloor Homes.

Seventy-five homes would be designated as affordable housing, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

The plans were approved despite concerns over water management and objections from Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and Londonthorpe and Harrowby Without Parish Council.

SKDC's planning officer stated the proposal "represents a significant public benefit which should be attributed significant weight".
