Man who sexually assaulted teenager jailed for eight years

A man has been jailed for eight years after he was found guilty of sex offences against a teenager.
Craig Smith, 45, of Bruce Road, Radford, Coventry, had denied abusing his victim between 2018 and 2020 in Woodhall Spa and Lincoln.
A jury at Lincoln Crown Court convicted him of eight counts of sexual assault following a four-day trial.
Smith was also placed on the sex offenders register for life and served a sexual harm prevention order.
Temporary Det Con Robert Djemah, from Lincolnshire Police, said Smith had shown no remorse for his offending, or what he had "put the victim through".
"This was a difficult period for the victim, but with support the victim had the courage to stand in court to tell the truth of all that happened," he said.
"I do hope this result goes some way to encourage others to report offences of this kind," he added.
