London 2012: Unite union agrees Olympics bonus deal

  • Published

Engineers, electricians and managerial staff on the Tube have agreed to a £850 bonus for working during the Olympics.

The Unite union, which said its members voted to accept the deal by four to one, negotiated the agreement with London Underground (LU),

The union said LU had "done the right thing" by recognising the extra work members will be expected to do.

LU said it was pleased Unite had agreed to its proposals for how staff can be fairly rewarded over the Games.

Another union, the Rail Maritime and Transport, is still negotiating with managers regarding a payout for its members.
