Met PC sacked for King's Cross station takeaway rant

A Metropolitan Police officer who abused the manager of a snack kiosk in King's Cross railway station has been sacked, the force has said.

Pc Philip Juhasz, 31, was convicted of a racially aggravated public order offence on 23 March.

However last month he was cleared of racism on appeal but his conviction for abusing Umer Nazir, 23, at the Delice de France outlet was upheld.

The Met said the PC had breached standards of professional behaviour.

Juhasz was off-duty last September when he confronted Mr Nazir demanding food due to be thrown away should be sold at a discounted price.

After being found guilty at Westminster Magistrates' Court in March he was fined £375 and ordered to pay £615 costs.

However on appeal, Blackfriars Crown Court cleared him of the racial element.

He was thrown out of the force following a gross misconduct hearing earlier this month.

A Met spokesman said: "A Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed for breaching standards of professional behaviour, namely authority, respect and courtesy and discreditable conduct following a gross misconduct hearing on 5 July."
