Blood Brothers to close 'because of Olympics effect'
One of London's longest running musicals, Blood Brothers, is to close this week after 24 years and 10,000 performances.
Theatre critic Mark Shenton says, like other long-running shows, it fell victim to the Olympic Games.
He said: "This last summer was a really, really catastrophic one for many shows in the West End.
"The tourist audience, on which these shows rely, was completely empty."
Chicago also closed after 15 years.
BBC London's Arts Correspondent Brenda Emmanus interviews Blood Brothers' producer Bill Kenwright and actors Lyn Paul and Mark Hutchinson, who play Mrs Johnson and Eddie in the show.
