The Met said six PCSOs received written warnings and one resigned

Police community support officers who posted a video of themselves on YouTube copying an online dance craze have been disciplined by Scotland Yard bosses.

The transport PCSOs were punished over a clip of them doing the Harlem Shake in uniform, posted online in February.

The video shows an officer in a crash helmet dancing alone, before his colleagues join in with blue lights flashing in the background.

Six PCSOs received written warnings and one resigned.

In the footage, one officer is seen with a traffic cone on his head gyrating next to a police van.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said that "unprofessionalism in the workplace" was not condoned.

He added: "We expect high standards from all our staff.

"Appropriate misconduct procedures have been taken regarding those involved and the matter is now closed."
