Wood Green police shooting: Prisoner escape plot accused remanded

Four men have appeared in court charged with attempting to free two convicts from a prison van in north London.
Armed police shot dead Jermaine Baker near Wood Green Crown Court during the alleged escape attempt on Friday.
The suspects are accused of trying to help Izzet Eren, 32, and Erwin Amoyaw-Gyamfi, 29, escape from custody.
The four men were remanded in custody by Highbury Corner magistrates to appear at Wood Green Crown Court on 4 January.
Attempted hit
Ozcan Eren, 31, of Douglas Road, Wood Green, and Eren Hasyer, 25, of Kettering Road, Enfield, are accused of conspiracy to aid the escape of two prisoners.
Nathan Mason, 30, of Vicarage Road, Tottenham, and Gokay Sogucakli, 18, of the Roundway, Tottenham, face the same charge, as well as one of possessing an imitation firearm and using a motor vehicle taken without the owner's consent.
Mr Mason, Mr Eren and Mr Hasyer did not apply for bail while Mr Sogucakli's application was refused.
Izzet Eren and Amoyaw-Gyamfi were being transported to court to be sentenced for possessing guns as part of an attempted hit on a rival gang member when the alleged attempt to free them was made.
Mr Baker, aged 28 and from Tottenham, was killed during the police operation in Bracknell Close, behind Wood Green Crown Court.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission and Directorate of Professional Standards - the Metropolitan Police's internal watchdog - are investigating the shooting.
