Met Police investigated after teenager suffers facial injuries

A mother has claimed police used excessive force against her 15-year-old son after they accused him of stealing a mobile phone in south-east London.
Shereen Jones said Terrell Jones-Burton was cycling home on Tuesday when an officer shoved him into shop shutters.
The Met said a 15-year-old "came off his bicycle" and suffered facial injuries when he was stopped and arrested in Bermondsey.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission has begun an investigation.
Ms Jones said her son's face had been "completely smashed up", adding he was in a stable condition in hospital.
She said he was not involved any theft and claims he was the victim of mistaken identity.
"He's told me the police have basically come out of nowhere, a police car behind him and a police car in front of him," she told BBC London.
"The police guy has jumped out of the car, shoved him into the shop shutters and basically the rest is history."
She added he was rushing home to meet a 21:30 curfew she had set him.
The Met confirmed they stopped the teenager at about 21:00 BST on Albion Street, shortly after a woman said she had been robbed of her phone by a boy on a bike.
But it said it was unable to respond to the mother's allegations because the police watchdog, the Independent Police Complaints Commission, was now investigating.
It added it had also contacted the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards "as is routine".
