A Metropolitan Police officer has appeared in court charged with sexually assaulting a male colleague on duty.

PC Joseph Demir, of Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, appeared at Willesden Magistrates' Court earlier.

PC Demir, 24, has been placed on restricted duties at work and was bailed on condition he does not contact the alleged victim.

The case has been sent to Westminster Magistrates' Court for a further hearing on 28 April.
