Emmanuel Odunlami named as man stabbed near St Paul's Cathedral

A man who was found with fatal stabbing injuries near St Paul's Cathedral has been named by police.

Emmanuel Odunlami, from Romford, was discovered in Gresham Street in the City of London just before midnight on Sunday.

Police officers tried to resuscitate the 32-year-old before he was taken to Royal London Hospital, where he died.

One person has been arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed.

City of London Police did not provide details about the suspect, or say where they were held.

Commander Umer Khan said: "Our thoughts and condolences are with Emmanuel's friends and family at this difficult time.

"We are continuing to appeal for any information, no matter how small it may seem, to help with our inquiries.

"Even the smallest piece of information may be significant to our investigation.

"A number of people were in the area at the time of this tragic incident and officers would like anyone with further information to come forward."
