Bringing the hospital to your home

The Physician Response Unit (PRU) team is bringing emergency care to people at home to ease the pressure on emergency departments.

The PRU sees about 4,000 patients a year, three-quarters of whom could have ended up in A&E instead.

This service is run only in north and east London, but could be something other areas in London provide in the future.
