A man has been charged with murder following the disappearance of a man from south London.

Justin Henry, 34, was last seen about 21:50 BST on 15 October at a McDonald's drive-through in Croydon.

His car - a silver Mercedes E Class - was recorded later that evening on CCTV near Crystal Palace, when it is thought another person was driving the vehicle.

Louis Benjamin, 29, from Croydon was charged on Wednesday with one count of murder.

A woman arrested on suspicion of kidnap in relation to Mr Henry's disappearance has been bailed until mid-January.

His family had said it was out of character for him to have not made contact.

Officers have conducted forensic examinations of Mr Henry's car and an address in Croydon, as well as searching through CCTV and making phone inquiries.

Det Ch Insp Matt Webb from the Met said: "We have spoken to Mr Henry's family and we fully understand the deep distress this development will cause.

"I want the public to understand that this charge does not mean the end of our appeal.

"This is not just a plea to help police. Mr Henry's family are enduring a dreadful ordeal and they are desperate for news and are also seeking your help."
