Hundreds of people braved the rain and gathered at Trafalgar Square for London's Diwali celebration on Sunday.

The festival of lights included performances from the Hindu, Sikh and Jain communities.

London's mayor Sadiq Khan said the Diwali celebrations across London over the next few weeks would be the biggest outside of India.

He described Sunday's festival as "an amazing day".
