New trains for the Piccadilly line are undergoing testing on tracks and in a climate chamber in Austria and Germany.

They are due to arrive in London in summer 2024 for more tests before entering service in 2025.

Carriages have been subjected to a range of temperatures and wind conditions to make sure they will be able to run in all weather conditions.

The new trains are lighter than existing designs, making the ride smoother and more energy efficient.

Siemens Mobility is building 95 trains for Transport for London (TfL) as they look to replace the existing Piccadilly line trains that have been in use since 1975.

About half of those are to be assembled at a new train manufacturing facility in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire.
