Art: Immersive nature exhibition opens in Oxo Tower
- Published
An immersive exhibition featuring works by nine international artists has opened in central London.
Shifting Landscapes takes viewers through the Arctic, poisoned rivers, a threatened Amazon rainforest and other scenes across the globe.
The free, interactive exhibition is open at the Bargehouse, Oxo Tower, until 10 December.
It was curated by filmmaker, composer and Emergence Magazine founder, Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee.
The showcase includes sensory installations, soundscapes, large-scale photographic works, and films for viewers to dive into.
Displays include a virtual reality experience of the Hoh Rain Forest, known as one of the quietest places in North America and a film about the impact of the Cambodian mangrove forest destruction.
A documentary about the endangered nightingale is also premiered within the exhibition, as well as a video about the role of bees and beekeepers in maintaining ecosystems.
Art and photography installations focusing on cell migration and the climate crisis also make up the display.
