Five arrested in connection with Battersea shooting

Detectives have made arrests in connection with a man who was shot dead on a south-west London street.

One man, 32, was arrest on suspicion of murder and three women and one man, 27, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to the scene on Shuttleworth Road in Battersea on 5 October.

Rico Andrews, 21, was found injured by officers and paramedics and died at the scene.

The five people remain in police custody at this time.

A murder investigation was launched after police were called to reports of gunshots heard on Shuttleworth Road.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest.

Det Ch Insp Neil John from the Met's specialist crime command said the arrests "mark another significant development in our investigation".

He said: "I continue to appeal to anyone who was in the area to area and saw events unfold, or anyone who has captured this incident on phone or doorbell footage, to contact police immediately."
