Ilyas Habibi was involved in an altercation before he died, police said

Police have named a 17-year-old student who was stabbed to death in south London outside a railway station.

Ilyas Habibi, 17, was found on Sutton High Street at about 19:00 on 5 December with multiple knife wounds.

Paramedics treated him but he died at the scene. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Officers said Mr Habibi was involved in an "altercation" near the railway station and the suspected attacker might also have injuries.

Met detectives have asked anyone with information to contact them via their online portal or by speaking to an officer on patrol.
