A 23-year-old man has been stabbed to death in Haringey.

Metropolitan Police officers were called at about 22:45 GMT on Thursday to reports of a stabbing in Albert Road, Finsbury Park.

The victim died at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics.

No arrests have been made and the man's family has been informed, the Met Police said. A murder investigation is under way.

Det Ch Supt Caroline Haines said: "My thoughts are with this young man's family who will be going through the most unimaginably difficult time. We will do all we can to get justice for them.

"A dedicated team of detectives are dealing with a murder investigation and a cordon is in place while forensic examinations are carried out."

She said that CCTV and house-to-house inquiries were under way.

A post-mortem examination will take place in the coming days, the force said.
