Three people have been questioned over the stabbing

A third person has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died from knife wounds in south-east London.

The 47-year-old was found on Old Kent Road in Southwark just before 07:00 GMT on Tuesday. He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

A man, 54, and a woman, aged 38, were arrested later the same day before being released on bail.

On Wednesday, a 39-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.

Metropolitan Police officers believe the stabbing took place inside a home close to where the victim was found by members of the public.

The force said there would be a more visible police presence in the area "but those present at the address at the time of the stabbing were known to each other and there is no wider threat to the public."

A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Thursday.
