A six-year-old girl has been hurt in a car crash after traffic lights were cut down overnight in south-east London.

Five sets of lights with Ulez cameras attached, were brought down in Orpington, police said.

Emergency services were called at about 08:30 GMT to Court Road, where two cars collided, the Met said.

Ch Insp Priya Shome said people who sabotaged cameras were "putting the public at risk" and also "taking up valuable police resources".

She said two units, which should have been responding to 999 calls, had to manage traffic instead.

The girl and an adult were treated in hospital for head injuries which have been assessed as non life-threatening.
