Sidcup: Hundreds of motorists fined over A20 road sign error

Hundreds of motorists are planning to take action against Transport for London (TfL) over inaccurate road signs which have left many of them with speeding fines and points on their driving licences.

The sign, on the A20 at Sidcup, south-east London, shows 50mph, but the actual limit is 40mph - something not reflected by a sign on the eastbound side of the road.

TfL has said the 50mph sign was put up by a third party - it has since been replaced with the correct signage and TfL is investigating how the unauthorised sign was put up.
