Hackney: Police appeal for information of murder victim

Dimitrios Tsavdaris was not believed to have any family in the UK but his next of kin have been informed of his death.

Police investigating a murder in Hackney, London, are appealing for anyone who saw the victim before his death to come forward.

Dimitrios Tsavdaris, known as Jimmy, was found dead at an address in Lansdowne Drive, London Fields on 29 January.

A post-mortem concluded that the 45-year-old died from an assault.

Officers are looking to speak to anyone who knew him to piece together his movements before to his death.

Det Ch Insp Kelly Allen, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are carrying out extensive enquiries into Dimitrios' death and as part of this we need to know more details about him and his background.

"Although he had no fixed address, we know he had previously stayed at properties in Orkney Gardens, Wickford in Essex and Grenville Road in Islington.

"We would ask anyone who lives or works in those areas to think about whether they may have seen him in recent weeks and months."
