Paddington Green stabbing: Boy, 17, guilty of killing another teenager

A 17-year-old boy has been found guilty of killing a another 17-year-old who was fatally stabbed in central London.
Khaled Saleh was found stabbed in Paddington Green, in Westminster, on 19 June.
He was treated by paramedics but later died.
The defendant was 16 years old at the time of the killing and cannot be named for legal reasons. He was found guilty of manslaughter at the Old Bailey but not guilty of murder.
The jury deliberated for 18 hours and 48 minutes before delivering its verdict on Thursday.
'Little chance of survival'
Investigators viewed CCTV footage showing the then 16-year-old boy carrying out the attack, and a local officer recognised the assailant, the trial heard.
The Met Police said officers arrested the boy one day after the attack but the weapon used to stab Khaled had not been found.
Following the verdict, Det Insp Ollie Stride, who led the investigation, said: "The violence used in this attack left Khaled with little chance of survival."
He said the defendant was approached by a group, which included Khaled, and "had many options, but chose to attack Khaled, who was unarmed".
"He then fled with his two associates, leaving Khaled dying on the floor while shocked park-goers desperately tried to save his life."
Judge Richard Foster adjourned sentencing for a pre-sentence report and remanded the defendant into custody.
