Police have launched an investigation after a university student in London not been seen for nearly three weeks was reported missing.

Samaria Ayanle, from Westminster, was last seen at her student accommodation near Marble Arch on 22 February.

Police said officers are in contact with family of the 19-year-old, who was reported missing on 8 March.

The Metropolitan Police added officers "are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare".

Ms Ayanle attends SOAS University of London, in Bloomsbury, and is studying art history with Japanese.
