Beckenham train stabbing: Man charged with attempted murder

A 19-year-old has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon after a man was stabbed on a train.

Rakeem Thomas will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on 30 March and has been remanded into custody.

British Transport Police received reports of two men fighting between Beckenham and Shortlands railway stations at about 16:00 on Wednesday.

The victim, in his 20s, is critical but stable in hospital, BTP said.
