Beckenham train stabbing: Man in court charged with attempted murder

A 19-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed on a train.

Rakeem Thomas from Beckenham, south London, was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

British Transport Police received reports of two men fighting near Beckenham Junction on Wednesday at about 16:00 GMT.

The injured man, in his 20s, is critical but stable in hospital, police said.

Mr Thomas was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on 26 April.
