Police are trying to return 13 mobile phones to their rightful owners after they were believed to have been stolen in central London last month.

Officers from City of London Police said the devices were snatched by thieves riding electric motorbikes on the morning of 26 March.

Police have since charged a 28-year old from Islington with nine thefts.

The suspect has also been charged with one robbery and dangerous driving offences.

According to court documents seen by the BBC, the stolen phones ranged in value from £900 to £1,300 and included a Samsung S24 Ultra device.

The defendant appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 28 March and was remanded in custody.

He will next appear at Isleworth Crown Court on 22 April, City of London Police said.
