Former PC Mokbul Hussain resigned from the Met's roads unit last year

A Met Police officer who accessed road traffic collision reports involving his partner and then advised them on a course of action committed gross misconduct, a panel found.

Mokbul Hussain, who resigned from the force's traffic command at the end of 2023, would have been sacked without notice if he was still in the job.

The hearing found he breached standards in relation to discreditable conduct and honesty and integrity.

He is also on the police barred list.

Those appearing on the list, held by the College of Policing, cannot be employed by police or policing bodies.

Following the hearing on Wednesday, Det Supt Christina Jessah, the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command lead, said: "We expect a high level of integrity from our officers and former PC Hussain fell short of that standard."
