Escaped reindeer killed on Norfolk road

A reindeer died when it was hit by a car shortly after escaping from a Norfolk tourist attraction.

The animal, called Cupid, was being kept at Melsop Farm Park in Scoulton, near Hingham.

Cupid escaped through a gate on Saturday morning. She was hit by a Peugeot when she ran onto a road several hours later, police said.

No-one from Melsop Farm Park was available for comment.

The farm is a visitor attaction for families with animals and has indoor and outdoor play areas. It opened in 2002.
