Palliative care centre approved at James Paget Hospital

Approval has been granted to a new £1.5m palliative care centre and outreach service at a Norfolk hospital.
Directors at the James Paget University Hospital at Gorleston gave it the go ahead after a fundraising drive reached £1.2m against a target of £1.5m.
The centre is linked to the Marie Curie Delivering Choice (MCDC) programme for end of life care, co-ordinated by NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
The centre will mean care can also be given in patients' homes.
A project board will now be established, chaired by hospital chairman John Hemming, to manage the design, building and running of the centre and outreach service.
