A man is being questioned on suspicion of having an imitation firearm and a knife at a hospital in Norfolk.

Armed police went to the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston when a staff member reported a patient had seen a man with a handgun in a bag.

Officers with a dog unit found and arrested a 39-year-old man in a room.

Police said the caller stayed on the phone line throughout the search on Thursday evening to keep officers informed of the man's whereabouts.
