Norfolk County Council may sell buildings to community

A council in Norfolk is looking at ways to sell buildings no longer in use to community groups.

Not-for-profit organisations in Norfolk are set to be given the opportunity and council support to buy the buildings.

A report to Norfolk County Council says the council would help groups spread the cost of buildings over three years.

Groups which are interested in a building will have to come up with a "strong business case" to support their bid, the report adds.

Leader of the council Derrick Murphy said: "If there is a good business case and a long-term chance of success, then we want to hear from communities."

The proposals go before the council's cabinet meeting on Monday, 4 April.
