Thieves have stolen £1,500 worth of lead flashing from a lifeboat station.

Two volunteer shorehelpers discovered the lead was missing at Sheringham, Norfolk, on Wednesday morning.

"Money that could have been spent saving lives will now have to be used to replace the resources," said Brian Farrow, Sheringham RNLI lifeboat operations manager.

The RNLI is a charity and Sheringham is run entirely by volunteers. Witnesses should contact Norfolk Police.
