Police were called to the HSBC in Reepham in the early hours of the morning

Thieves left a gaping hole in the wall of a Norfolk bank after using a digger to rip out a cash machine.

The raid on the HSBC bank, in Market Place, Reepham, happened at about 00:45 BST.

A JCB digger stolen from a farm in nearby Little Witchingham was used.

Police said up to six men, all wearing balaclavas, fled in two cars - a black Ford Focus and dark coloured Toyota Hilux. They are thought to have taken the cash machine with them.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
