- Published
Five people have denied the murder of a man who suffered serious head injuries outside a pub in Great Yarmouth.
Ian Church, 40, who lived in the town, died two days after an incident outside the Bricklayers Arms on 5 May.
Todd Esherwood, 24, Tony Smith, 29, and Stuart Layden, 30 - all of Great Yarmouth - and Kelly Taylor, 33, and Roy Smith, 31, both of Sheerness, Kent, all appeared at Norwich Crown Court.
All five will next appear on 7 September.
Mr Esherwood, of Saxon Road, Mr Smith, of Sidney Close, and Mr Layden, of South Quay, had previously been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
Mr Smith, of Ranelagh Road, Sheerness, had faced the same charge, while Ms Taylor, of Harris Road, Sheerness had also been charged with actual bodily harm in relation to the incident.
These were all superseded by a murder charge put to each of them when they appeared at Norwich Crown Court earlier.
A 43-year-old man arrested in connection with Mr Church's death remains on police bail.
