A 49-year-old man has been charged after a suspicious device was found under a car in the village of Buxton, Norfolk on Sunday.

Jonathan Taylor, of Southwell Road, Norwich, has been charged with doing an act with intent to cause an explosion likely to endanger life.

Mr Taylor was remanded in custody to appear before magistrates on Thursday.

Two other men arrested in connection with the incident have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police were called to Coltishall Road in Buxton on 2 September when the device was spotted under a car.

People had to leave six nearby properties while army explosive ordnance disposal officers dealt with the device.

A safety cordon was lifted at 20:30 BST and residents returned to their homes.

Initial examinations indicated the object was safe to remove and it was taken to a forensic laboratory for further examination.
