A doctor from south Norfolk has appeared in court charged with historical serious sexual offences against two girls under the age of 16.
Dr Hugh Blaise O'Neill, 61, from Tasburgh, is charged with two counts of rape and four of gross indecency.
South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich was told one of the charges relates to a girl under the age of 14.
Having had his bail application refused he was remanded in custody to appear at Norwich Crown Court on 21 August.
Dr O'Neill, who practised as a GP in Horsford, did not speak during his appearance in court.
The alleged offences date between the early 1990s and early 2000s and do not relate to his professional role, police said.
