A teenage boy who was spotted causing damage in a town centre was ordered to tidy up the mess he made.

Norfolk Police said the youth tried to run from officers after spraying silly string and spray paint around the Vancouver Quarter in King's Lynn.

The force said that after he was caught he admitted to causing the damage on shops and bins.

The boy was given a mop, brush and bucket by officers and spent Friday cleaning up the string and paint.

Police did not reveal his name or age.

They shared images of the punishment on social media, not revealing his face, having received permission from an adult responsible for the teenager.
