Police investigating a fatal crash where a teenage boy died after being hit by a pick-up truck said they still needed to trace key witnesses.

Alfie Brown, 13, died after he was struck while riding his bike in Swafield, near North Walsham, Norfolk, at 18:25 BST on 10 August.

Police said several people stopped to help, and may have important information.

The truck driver failed to stop but was found soon afterwards, police said.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

The man, in his 50s, has been bailed until 24 February, Norfolk Police said.

Det Insp Dave McCormack said: "We believe there are other people who stopped to help the victim and who left before emergency services arrived that have not been spoken to by police and who may hold important information.

"There will also be people who were travelling either on foot or in a vehicle that may have seen something relevant to the investigation and we strongly encourage them to come forward."

Police are also keen to speak to anyone walking or driving along the B1145 from Knapton to Swafield between 18:00 and 18:30 and who saw either a cyclist and/or the Ford Ranger truck.

They are also asking for video footage from that time.

"Every piece of information helps us to understand exactly what happened and it is not too late to get in touch," Det Insp McCormack said.

In August, Alfie's mother, Rebecca Bauchamp, said of his death: "Alfie was our world. The pain is unbearable, it truly is."

She said her son was a "talented artist" who loved to draw comic strips and design characters.
